Hey Friend!

I’m Serena Scanzillo. I’m a fitness founder, a mental health advocate, a nutrition coach and your biggest cheerleader. Thanks for visiting today!

I was born and raised in Connecticut, but you can find me in Philadelphia, the city of love. I’m a fan of all things wellness, organization, routine and entrepreneurship. When I’m not leading personal training sessions or group classes online, I’m browsing Pinterest, taking long walks or making a new healthy smoothie.

When you love what you have, you have everything you need.

I have a big framed picture of a quote, “Don’t quit your daydream” in my living room. It reminds me that whatever I can dream up in my mind, can come to life. Don’t ever give up on the things you believe in

My love for fitness came by accident, but I wouldn’t have it any other way…

At the age of 4 I was playing soccer, at 14, lacrosse and at 21, a road racer. After graduating with a degree in journalism, I decided to pivot and pursue a career in Washington, DC as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. I began training clients in my community, quickly understanding how powerful fitness can be.

Fueled by my athletic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit and an unmatched work ethic, I launched SerenaFit, a brand focused on a customized workout experience. I was able to connect with hundreds of new clients, community leaders, politicians and fellow coaches that inspired me to innovate and grow.

In 2016 I began training ONLINE AND SET MY SIGHTS ON BUILDING A COMMUNITY OF CLIENTS WHO COULD CONNECT NO MATTER THEIR LOCATION. BEFORE I KNEW IT I HAD people FROM ITALY, TEXAS, TURKEY AND CHICAGO SIGNING IN to my workouts. THIS LAID THE FOUNDATION
FOR THE FUTURE OF SERENAFIT.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

C.S. Lewis

Look forward. The past is gone. Most of what holds us back is from a past-life. Through the power of fitness, nutrition and mindfulness new doors can open, goals met and challenges overcome. From the space you live in to the grace you bring to yourself everyday; you’re limitless. Create a life you love. You hold the power and don’t forget that.

Mental Health Advocate

I’ve been supporting NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) since 2019, when I started attending their family support groups. They’re such a welcoming organization that truly makes a difference.

My Coaching Philosophy

I hope to encourage you to celebrate movement everyday, to thrive no matter your circumstance, to be intentional in all that you do and to focus forward on all that lies ahead.

From the beginning of my career as a trainer, it’s always been about the journey, the self-development; the time it takes to uncover what’s holding us back. Fitness and nutrition are keys to understanding our limitless potential because they teach us to connect with ourselves on a deeper level. The journey to healthy living requires us to get a little uncomfortable which, to me, is the prerequisite to change.

I’ve always been the coach to provide my clients with the space to grow. I think that’s the most important thing I can do. I like to think of myself as a rescue team, swooping in to lend a helping hand.

Get to Know Me

In college, I was Risk Management Chair for my sorority Alpha Omicron Pi, which meant I had to go to parties sober and look out for the safety of my sisters.

One of my favorite things to do is to listen to Sade, and look at the stars on a warm Summer night.

I’ve taken over 24 cruises with my family and even sailed through the locks at the Panama Canal; one of the coolest experiences of my life!

Despite having traveled often, I’m generally a bad flyer. I get really nervous when turbulence hits.

If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life, It’d be Banana on Toast with Honey. It’s the consistency that’s the best!
